Bible Memory
Learning portions of Scripture is very important for keeping God close to our hearts at all times and in all places. Seventh graders are to memorize from the list of suggested passages—there will be a separate list for each semester. These passages have strong connections to the stories we are studying in Bible class and, hopefully, will make personal connections for the students as well.
For each quiz, students are expected to memorize completely a chosen passage word-for-word to write out. Also, they will look up the passage in a study Bible in order to make specific connections with and give explanations of the passage and our studies. In addition, they will be asked to write a paragraph making personal connections to their lives with specific examples. Students will have memory quizzes every two weeks throughout each marking period. The first three quizzes of each quarter are required; the fourth is optional to improve a grade, unless a quiz was missed or failed, at which point it would be required. |
